The Witcher Netflix may be divided into two parts in the upcoming third season.

In an interview with Collider, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed that the next season could be divided into two parts, given the ongoing VFX challenge.

The show's creators have revealed that it is "waiting at least seven months into production before the release of Season 3, which could benefit from a season split."

Lauren was joined by The Witcher: Blood Origin co-creator Declan De Barra during the interview. The pair were asked when the next season would be available and if Netflix could release the episodes in two parts.

"We haven't discussed [split seasons], but seeing what's happening in all the different streams right now, I wouldn't rule it out," Lauren said.

"I think we will definitely not leave what we are not proud of. So it marks the day we start all the work. I think it will be interesting. Again, The Witcher Season 3 is still far, eight months away. So, God willing we will release them all at once. But its realy who knows truely, we'll see what it happens."

It's not the first time a Netflix show has been split into two parts for other reasons. As a starting point, when Guillermo del Toro's Department of Interest released a pair of episodes as part of a thematic structure, the Duffer Brothers chose to split Stranger Things season 4 into two parts to allow the VFX team to complete their work. the final chapter.
